Sara Baena is more than a model—she is a psychologist, yogi, author, and advocate for authenticity. With a presence that bridges fashion, wellness, and emotional depth, she embodies the kind of beauty that radiates from the inside out. In this conversation, Sara opens up about her identity, passions, challenges, and her vision for a life lived with purpose.
ELLAS: You’ve been described as a model, yogi, psychologist, and entrepreneur. If you had to describe yourself in one sentence, what would it be?
Sara Baena: A woman who embraces elegance and strength with softness—blending fashion, movement, and emotional depth into everything I do.
ELLAS: Your Instagram beautifully fuses fashion modeling and contortion yoga. Where does that passion come from?
Sara: For me, movement is art. Modeling sharpened my aesthetic eye; yoga taught discipline; contortion gave me freedom. Together, they create a language where the body speaks emotions that words sometimes can’t.
ELLAS: Many view your images as aspirational. What message do you hope people take from them?
Sara: That beauty isn’t just about perfection—it’s about authenticity. I want women to look at my work and feel empowered to express themselves: strong, feminine, and unapologetically graceful.
ELLAS: You hold a master’s degree in psychology. How does that influence your brand and creative work today?
Sara: Psychology is at the core of everything I do. It helps me understand emotions, human connection, and what inspires people. In fashion, wellness, storytelling—I lean on psychology to make work that resonates beyond the surface.
ELLAS: You’re launching projects like Soft Power Yoga and True Nature Granola. What do they each represent in your vision?
Sara: They represent balance. Soft Power Yoga channels feminine strength and healing, while True Nature Granola is about nourishing our bodies with authenticity. Both are born from my dream of living beautifully—from the inside out.
ELLAS: What was your childhood like, and how did it shape your path?
Sara: I was born and raised in Colombia, inspired early by fashion magazines and the elegance of my mother. I started taking modeling and acting classes around age 11. Over time, I also fell in love with psychology and wellness. Everything converged—my roots, my curiosity, and my need to express more than just outward beauty.
ELLAS: How would you describe your fashion style?
Sara: Elegant, feminine, with a hint of boldness. I gravitate toward pieces that tell a story—soft silhouettes, natural textures, sustainable elements. I like garments that feel like extensions of who I am, not just costumes.
ELLAS: How often do you work out, and what does your fitness or movement routine look like?
Sara: Quite regularly. I practice yoga, contortion, and mindful movement nearly every day. Movement is more than exercise—it’s ritual. It grounds me, connects me to my body, and fuels my creativity.
ELLAS: Do you have any phobias?
Sara: I’m quite open about my vulnerabilities. One phobia of mine is enclosed or very tight spaces—they make me feel restricted. I believe acknowledging fears is part of strength, not weakness.
ELLAS: Describe yourself in five words.
Sara: Poised, passionate, intuitive, evolving, radiant.
ELLAS: Do you have a favorite pet or an animal you feel connected to?
Sara: I’ve always felt a deep affinity for animals, especially dogs. Their loyalty, energy, and unconditional presence inspire me. I’m drawn to their authenticity.
